Educational Philosophy: Students can overcome any difficulty with determination and finding the right tools. Students need to own their learning in order to make it stick for the long term. The best educational experiences make learning relevant to the student's life.
Hobbies: Listening to new music groups, watching improv comedy, flying kites, riding my bike, fixing stuff, playing with my dogs, playing cards, watching movies, listening to Ted Talks, reading about new technology, reading mysteries, so much to do, so little time...
Advice for Students: Understand yourself. Know yourself. If you are weak in an area of learning, accept it and find a way to learn it anyway. Search for tools and resources to help. Don't forget to take advantage of the tools and resources provided for you by your school and your teachers. (Truly smart people use all the resources they can!) Be patient and know that learning and confidence are built brick by brick by doing and trying, so stick with it even when it is challenging.
